If you have a passion for understanding people, it may be. Do understand that the academic study of psychology is a little different from the pop-psychology and self-help rubbish you see on TV. It has nothing at all to do with Dr Phil! It is a scientific subject, and there is some work on research methods and statistics.
You do not learn how to 'analyse people', or 'read peoples' bodylanguage' (although everyone will think that you do!). It's an academic discipline, lots of reading, essays, and exams. You need to have a critical eye, to be able to see flaws in arguments and be able to express your ideas well.
If you can do that, (maybe with the help of a good psychology study guide), you might come out with a good understanding of how people tick! However, the greatest benefits, in my opinion, come from learning new ways of thinking that they teach on the course.
