That's actually an interesting question because most people who wear motorcycle jackets wear it because it looks cool. But you know, unlike in a car where you are well protected, on a motorcycle, the faster you go, the more rough weather you have to encounter. In that case, wearing a jacket helps your skin from being exposed to the chilly weather and hence you need not be constrained by speed while traveling faster on a motorcycle.
